Sometimes, nudity can speak louder than words, particularly if the issue has barely been noticed by the public.

The Taiwan Environmental Protection Union (TEPU) put together a skit in front of the Red Playhouse in Ximending yesterday to publicize the incremental steps that it believes the government should take to curb greenhouse gas emissions.

The skit began with Santa Claus arriving from Northern Europe to distribute gifts in Taiwan. He meets with a friendly local and complains about the country's unbearable heat.

"It's global warming!" said the Taiwanese. "Taiwan is hot because of the carbon dioxide emissions."

"You can't do this any more," Santa said. "You have to figure out ways to reduce the emissions, or Taiwan and the Earth will suffer major disasters."

"What else can I do?" the local replied, "neither the government nor the Legislative Yuan pay much attention to the issue and are not aggressive in curbing emissions."

"Oh, it's so hot. I can't take it anymore! I am going to take my clothes off," Santa said while taking off his red outfit.

In a statement, the union accused the government of lacking determination to resolve the issue.

"The goals and timetable that the Executive Yuan has set out show that it has not made any progress in the past eight years," the statement said.

The union hoped that through the satire the public would recognize the importance of global warming.

The statement then demanded that the government immediately pass a new law that stipulates the compulsory reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

˙聖誕股溝男嗆地球太暖

聖誕節前夕，台灣環保聯盟昨天帶領二十名學生工作隊，在西門町紅樓廣場前上演「地球暖化，台灣災難，聖誕老公公熱得全脫了」行動劇，兩名扮成聖誕老公公模樣的工作人員，在廣場前一件件脫掉紅色裝扮的外衣、帽子，最後只剩下四角內褲，其中一位甚至露出股溝（圖2）。

兩名聖誕老公公身上寫著「防止暖化」、「拯救地球」標語，並躺在地上（圖1），藉由貼近土地的方式，實際感受地球暖化的嚴重性。

盼民眾警覺
環盟表示，此行動劇是為了要抗議環保署日前訂定的《溫室氣體減量法》草案，未將二氧化碳的減量期程及目標列入其中，並且希望藉此舉動，喚起民眾對全球暖化的警覺和重視。【文：林欣靜、圖：方萬民】

■裸男行動劇好熱的冬天耶誕老公公脫了

冬陽暖烘烘的天氣，穿著丁字褲的股溝客和穿著四角內褲的耶誕老公公，昨天在眾人驚呼聲中現身；因地球暖化現象愈趨明顯，他們藉此諷刺政府漠視溫室氣體減量的重要性。

地球暖化效應讓全球今年都有個「溫暖」的冬天，台灣環保聯盟學生會昨天在台北西門町紅樓前以行動劇抗議台灣溫室氣體不斷飆高，總增加量高居世界第七名，政府提出的溫室氣體減量方案卻沒有減量決心和誠意。

行動劇地點為紅樓前，旁邊就是漢中街派出所，擔任聖誕老公公滿臉都是白鬍子的蔡老師直呼「台灣冬天這麼熱，讓人受不了！」接著脫掉大紅上衣，稍微遲疑後，他下定決心扯下長褲，露出大紅色的四角褲。

此時，突然跳出另名幾近全裸的裸男，身上僅著丁字褲，兩人手持「台灣暖化殺手」字樣看板，並由環保聯盟秘書長何宗勳以毛筆在背面書寫「防止暖化」、「拯救地球」等。

裸男行動劇吸引行人駐足，有人看到身材瘦削的聖誕老公公直說「好像是營養不良的聖誕老人」，還有人牽著穿衣服禦寒的狗在一旁觀看，一名十二歲的小女孩看完裸男後卻面無表情，只說聲「瘋子」。

三十多歲單身的蔡老師為第一次參加環保裸體行動，他表示，參加裸體行動是希望能為台灣環保盡點心力。之前沒有告知學校或學生，直到昨天早上出發前都還忐忑不安，但既然下定決心，就不怕有後遺症。

露出股溝的黃先生在環保工程公司工作，他這次已經是第三次裸露，之前曾參加鹽寮裸體反核和環境權入憲行動。他說，裸體只是「表演」形式的一種，即便在眾目睽睽下全身僅著丁字褲，他也不覺得有任何障礙，「若有障礙就不會來了」。何宗勳坦承，裸體代表的是和平與愛，把身體當成土地，任何環境污染都會造成身體受損，才會以「脫光」表達環境訴求。
